Websites, stores, software and brands that make you look as good as you are.
All build services →Stationery 22, part of the Café 22 group, sells school stationery and grade packs to parents at Pinnacle College Waterfall in Midrand. It was handling around 50 pack enquiries a week by hand. We built every layer of the store ourselves: server, catalogue, payments, courier, brand, custom features and legal pages.
Parents open their child’s grade pack, untick what they already own, and the price drops live, item by item. Each pack is built from the real products, so selling 40 Grade 4 packs deducts stock item by item. One stock count, not two that disagree.
A full pack is 25 or more lines, so on a phone the list starts ticked and folds away. The fast path stays one tap. Try it.
Illustrative items and prices. Parcel weight follows what is still ticked, so courier quotes match what ships.
A supplier sheet of 324 rows became a clean, searchable, courier-ready catalogue. Every product was checked before import, and any questions went back to the client in one tidy query workbook, so nothing went live unconfirmed.
Copy was written from manufacturer specifications, never copied, so Google sees original pages. Grade tags come from actual pack membership, not guesswork. And 12 printable grade lists are generated live from each pack, so the printed list and the shop can never disagree.
November to January carries most of the year’s revenue, and it arrives in spikes. Basket and checkout are the pages that can’t be cached, so the store runs on its own South African server, not shared hosting.
Catalogue pages come straight from cache, keeping the server free for checkouts. Two firewall layers, key-only access, forced HTTPS, and order emails that land in inboxes, not spam.
Gateway approval is usually the slowest part of a launch, so we started it early and managed it: the business description, the document checklist turned into plain language, and one identical trading address everywhere the law expects it.
At checkout, parents see real courier prices calculated from the parcel and their address. Learner details never go to the courier.
Each sales feature was tested end to end on a separate site before going live, and the settings the client needs, like school dates and reminder timings, are editable without touching code.
Once a parent’s email is known, their basket is saved and up to two reminders go out, at 1 hour and 24 hours. One tap rebuilds it on any device.
Three days after an order completes, one-tap star links for each item, with the form pre-filled.
Baskets saved, reminders sent, orders recovered and rand value recovered, on one admin page.
Days until school and the order-by date, in the top bar, product pages and basket. Calculated in the browser, so cached pages are never stale.
A fast, branded slide-out basket carrying the countdown and pack suggestions.
Three or more single items from one grade’s list, and the basket suggests the full pack instead.
Built from scratch and wired into Google Consent Mode, so tracking only runs with permission.
A product feed built to Google Merchant Center’s specification, ready for free Shopping listings.
Every order email restyled, with rotating stationery puns. The header logo rolls between its stacked and full forms.
Orders carry a learner’s grade and class, so POPIA’s rules on children’s information applied from day one. Six legal pages were written and checked against the primary legislation.
Midway through, the business rebranded from One Stop Stationery Shop to Stationery 22. We moved the domain, SSL, email and every reference with zero data loss, and delivered a brand guide and a ten-format logo suite without slowing the build.
Every layer, from the server to the checkout copy, delivered by one team.
